Q : What is a Charter School?
A: Charter schools are public schools that operate with an agreement (or charter) with a state, school district, or governmental entity to provide an enhanced education that is often unavailable within the conventional public schooling setting. These schools are open to all students, do not charge tuition, have no religious affiliation, and must abide by the same state and federal testing, financial, anti-discrimination, health, and safety regulations as all public schools. They typically have higher levels of parent, student, and community involvement and often realize higher student achievement.
Our campus is small by design, which gives it a private school atmosphere where parents, faculty, and staff can work together for the benefit of each child. Though it may seem like a small private school, it is an established, tuition-free public school of choice.

Q : How does the after school care program work?
Q : If my child currently has an IEP or is in need of Special Education services, will those be provided?
A: FCA Conroe will adhere to all Texas and federal requirements regarding the education of students with disabilities including academic, non-academic, and extracurricular activities. In accordance with state and federal law, to the maximum extent possible, students with disabilities participate with their non-disabled peers in all academic, non-academic, and extracurricular activities to the maximum extent appropriate.
Plans for addressing the needs of students with disabilities will be developed based on the Individual Education Plans (IEP) or 504 Plans of each child.
Q : What kind of sports or programs will be offered?
A: We currently offer boys flag football, basketball, cross country, and soccer. For girls we offer volleyball, basketball, cross country, soccer, and cheerleading. Current academic and extracurricular activities include art club, chess club, band, and choir. Our after school program selection will expand as we grow as a school.
Q : Will there be a free/reduced school lunch/breakfast program?
A: FCA Conroe does participate in both The School Breakfast Program and the National School Lunch Program. Meals will be provided through a vendor and will meet both the National School Lunch Program Standards, as well as those guidelines set by the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Please be sure to fill our the Socioeconomic form on Skyward to see if you qualify.
Q : What security measures will be taken to ensure my child’s safety?
A: Entry to the school requires admission by the receptionist. Visitors will be required to submit IDs for a background check and sign the Visitor's Register before proceeding beyond the lobby; they will be be given a temporary ID badge which must be visible at all times. Upon completion of the visit, visitors will return to the office, leave their badge, and enter the departure time in the register.
Q : Is there be a Parent/Teacher Organization?
Q : How can I pay for my child's lunch?
A: We are utilizing an online payment service you can access through your family Skyward account. Click the food service icon, and select RevTrek in the upper right corner. We are currently not accepting cash payments. You can visit here to set up an account and load money onto your student's lunch account.
Q : Do you have a transportation department?
A: All students are brought to the school through family transportation. Families within our community also have carpooled with one another to assist in the transportation of their students.
Q: Does FCA Conroe serve breakfast?
A: Breakfast is available from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 a.m each morning in the gym/cafeteria.
Q: Can my student have snacks?
A: Students are allowed to bring a small, healthy snack that can be consumed in a few
minutes. Examples include cheese crackers, animal crackers, nutri-grain bars, granola bars,
pretzels, grapes, etc. No snack should require the use of a utensil. Students attending after school
care will need to bring a snack for after school. Parents may not give the teacher snacks to be
distributed in the classroom. Students may NOT share snacks at any time, including lunch.
Food and drink (except bottled water with lids) are not permitted in the classrooms. There are
multiple water fountains available on the campus, and these have a place for filling water bottles.
They may refill them from any of the drinking fountains on campus.
Q: Do you have a School Nurse?
A: We have a full-time School Nurse available to assist and care for your student throughout the school day as needed. Should your student have a medical plan (asthma action plan, EpiPen action plan, etc.) please have these documents ready at Meet the Teacher Night for the nurse’s review. Any medication should be signed in at Back to School Night or through the office with the Medication Administration Form. All medication must be in the original container and can be dispensed only by the Nurse.
